Toddler Bed with Canopy
Your little princess would like a toddler bed with canopy. She has just brought the catalog to you and has shown you in no uncertain terms exactly which of these beds she would like to have. The bed in question is a beautiful thing to be sure, a lovely little toddler bed with a frilly, frothy tulle canopy that makes it look like something out of a beautiful castle. This is the child who announced that she was only wearing pink clothing and has to have her tiara wrestled off of her little head most of the time. In fact, it is often just easier to allow her to wear the little crown to the grocery store or off to see the grandparents. Perhaps this canopy bed would be a good investment for her.
There are two choices for your toddler bed with canopy- you can either buy one that is pre-made from the stores or catalogs or you can create your own instead. The toddler bed should be a sturdy one, but there are several other things that you should keep in mind as well. Safety is the first and most important consideration- the canopy should be attached to the bed correctly so that it can be pulled back and away for when the child is sleeping and should not be long enough to allow her to be tangled in the material.
In addition to a commercially made toddler bed with canopy, you can also consider making your own by installing a canopy over the top of an existing toddler bed. Again, you have the choice to buy a canopy that is specifically designed for use with a toddler’s bed or you can make your own with a piece of material and an embroidery hoop. The same precautions exist with this concept: make sure that the canopy is not posing any kind of safety concern for the child.
For a child who is just this side of a little princess, the canopy is her fairy tale bed- meant to be pink and glittery and very regal. But the canopy is not just for the little princess and there are ways to adapt them to the taste of virtually any child at all. If there is a favorite color, you can use that for the canopy. A favorite blanket can be a makeshift canopy, but only during play time fun. For some, a toddler bed with canopy will be a favorite until they are too long for the bed, and others will move on to something else fairly quickly.
